MJ2Day

The other day I jumped in a ring full of bulls without hesitation. Of course I wasn’t by myself I had a trusted cowboy with me, with a cowboy hat and all. With a tip of his hat he said “Stay with me and you’ll be fine.” And that’s all I had to hear as I hopped over the gate. I put complete trust in him. Not an ounce of fear was in me. And that got me thinking about how paralyzing fear can be. How it can make you surrender to something and miss out on an experience that could bring so much joy and happiness. {Or in this case a pretty cool picture!}

That’s how I felt last year when I signed up for the Melissa Jill workshop. Fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear of not being the right attendee for the workshop. As I hit the send button on my computer my nerves danced and it felt like I had just signed up for summer camp. I’m glad there isn’t an unsend button because if there had been I probably would have used it!

In retrospect? Best. Business. Decision. I’ve. Ever. Made. Melissa is incredibly kind, intelligent, and gracious. She casts every fear and made everyone feel so welcome. The MJ 2 day workshop was broken down in two days. The first day was focus on photography itself and the second day was focused on the business aspect of running a photography business. We had a plethora information handed to us and to this day I still go back to my notes to review!

I’m glad I kicked fear to the curb that day. If I hadn’t I would have missed out of friends and knowledge that today I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Here is a group shot of everyone and below a few pictures of some of the attendees I was able to get from the weekend!

Melissa Jill is doing two workshops this summer one in Ohio and the other in Colorado. If you are a photographer you should definitely check them out!

There were three Melissas at the workshop! Melissa Arlena, Melissa Jill, Melissa Pardi
